FogCo is a great company with a not-so-great history of digital marketing strategies. When they came to us a few years ago, there were quite a few remnants of black-hat SEO still hanging around: keyword stuffing, bad backlinks, etc.
While this project was even more of a fixer-upper than the typical client, it made the process all the more rewarding. The ultimate goal was a full Google penalty recovery, and achieving that required many smaller changes. By going back and optimizing keywords for Google’s new algorithmic updates, we were able to get a whole new set of internet searchers in front of Fogco’s site. Next, we went about developing content that would keep those searchers there and keep them interested. By redoing all of the site’s copy and instituting consistent blogging, we were able to meet all of the statistical goals we set out to, increasing unique visitors by 57%, total visitors by 60%, and total pageviews by 77%.
