Purrfurdots Ocicats
From the first time, a few years ago, that we used the services of Main Street Host, our business has improved vastly! In my business, Purrfurdots Ocicats, I raise Ocicats. They are a wild looking spotted breed of domestic cat. I have bred Ocicats for over 21 years now. Raising a breed of cats has always been a life long passion, but one is always faced with placing kittens in a timely fashion. Before I procured the services of Main Street Host, kitten sales were very slow. Sometimes my kittens were many months old before I could finally place them. I spent quite a bit of funds on lots of different types of advertising, but sales remained slow. I can't say that now! Most of my kittens are sold way before they are born! In May of 2007, one of your sales reps contacted me and alerted me to the fact that while I had a lovely web site, no one would ever find it on the Internet! She was right. In 2006, my Internet sales amounted to $39.00.
As a Family History Video / DVD Production Company, much of my income has been generated from referrals, including photo shops. Our company is very unique in that we have developed a Floral Preservation system that will dry flowers within three to five days. The results are incredible because the flowers haven't had time to deteriorate. It allows Moms and Dads the opportunity to stay home and be Moms and Dads. Purposefully we made the start up cost that of an "old used beat-up car" so they can afford to get into the business in the first place. Which does not allows us money for elaborate advertising! After advertising with paper and several magazines with minimal returns, we began advertising on the Internet. In the winter of 2005 I partnered with Fly and Field Outfitters. My first project was redesigning flyandfield.com so that our customers could find us. The site was adequate; just hidden deep within the search engines. Any improvement was welcome. So armed with limited knowledge I had gleaned from friends and from out of date books, set out to tackle SEO myself. When I was finished, the site moved from page 10 to page 3, for "Oregon Fly Fishing." And there it stayed, until my partner received a call from Main Street Host.
